This is Alma, your favorite dachshund and expert on everything that makes life better—especially dogs. Today I want to tell you why dogs (meaning mainly me, but also my friends) are much better pets than those purring, hairy egomaniacs you call "cats."
Dogs are the best friends – cats are roommates
Let’s start with the most important thing: relationships!
- Dogs: We live for you! We're happy when you come home (even if you've only been gone for 5 minutes). We jump, wag, and give kisses like you just brought the moon down from the sky.
- Cats: They look at you like a butler wondering why you haven't paid your taxes yet. "Oh, you're back? Great, then fill my bowl."
Honestly, who wants a roommate who always acts like he's the boss?
Dogs are fun – cats do what they want
If you want to play, we, the dogs, are right there. Throw a ball? Give it to me! Fetch a stick? Sure! Catch me, won't you? Well, give it a try!
Cats, on the other hand... "Oh, you bought me a fake mouse? How cute. Put it there, maybe I'll look at it later."
We are team players – cats are lone fighters
When you cry, we come and lay our heads on your knees. We comfort you because we know: you are our pack, and a pack sticks together.
Cats? They might come by when they're hungry, or sit right on your keyboard while you're working. Comfort? Oh well.
Dogs are adventurers – cats are lazy
I, Alma, love walks! Every day is a new adventure: different smells, different trees, different dogs. What do cats do? They laze around on the radiator for half the day and lie on your favorite sweater the rest of the time. No sense of adventure? Zero.
Dogs understand rules – cats ignore them
- Dogs: "Not on the couch? Okay, I'll try not to... well, maybe a little, but only because I love you so much!"
- Cats: "Not on the table? Haha, good joke. I'll lie on it while I look into your eyes."
Dogs are real entertainers
We dogs have charm and humor! When I, Alma, pull out my best dachshund tricks—from "looking innocent" to "curling up like a croissant"—everyone melts.
Cats? They trip over their own feet but act like it never happened.
Dogs are loyal – cats are self-centered
We dogs would walk through fire for you, just to make you happy. Cats? They watch the fire and wonder if the smoke brings out the color of their fur.
Alma's conclusion: Get a dog, not a diva roommate
Cats may be nice for people who want a pet that doesn't want anything from them. But if you're looking for true love, adventure, and a loyal companion for life, there's only one choice: us dogs!
We wag our tails, sniff everything (sometimes in inappropriate places, I admit), and brighten up your life. Cats may think they're kings, but dogs? We know we can win hearts.
